COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019), an unexpected pandemic, outbroke near the end of 2019, and is now overwhelming the whole world. Depriving millions of lives, it has caused disastrous damage to our society. Altough the virus is now basically under control in China, it is still spreading rapidly around the whole world, which poses a severe threaten on us. Under such circumstance, prevention of COVID-19 is undoubtly of great significance. This website is intended to help you learn the current situation, commom methodologies, including traditional medical methods and modern information technologies in disease control, examples in SEU during this summer's pandemic, and what we should do in our campus life.
Current situation
The COVID-19 pandemic, lasting for nearly two years, has overwhelmed almost all countries and regions over the world. As of October 23, 2021, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the world had exceeded 240 million, with 4.95 million deaths and 27.26 million current confirmed cases. The total number of confirmed cases in China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) has reached 125,468, with 5,695 deaths and 2,423 current confirmed cases. At present, ranked by the severity index, which is composed of existing confirmed cases, population, built-up area and other factors, the top 10 countries wih the most severe pandemic situation are the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the United States, Honduras, Peru, Turkey, Finland, Serbia, Iran and Russia.

Methodologies
Facing the severe pandemic, the Chinese government and its people have taken a lot of effective measures to prevent the virus from spreading. Not only the traditional medical methods, with the rapid development of modern information technologies, many high-tech methods are also adopted, making the disease control more accurate and efficient. In this section, we will briefly introduce both the two kinds of methodologies taken in our country.

Nanjing's summer in 2021
During the summer of 2021, an unexpected wave of pandemic broke out from Lukou Airport, Nanjing, while many SEU students are still in the campus. The university managed to get through such a hard period by taking effective measures, and many students dedicated themselves in helping to control the epidemic.
